Ruben Rayos Serna (born June 21, 1986 in Elche ), better known as Rayo, is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for the Cyprus club Anorthosis in the position of attacking midfielder.

Football career
Rayo was born in Elche ( Valencia ). He is a graduate of the club of the same name and, until the age of 25, he played only in Segunda B , representing in turn “Villajoyosa”, “ Barcelona B ” [1] , “ Orihuela ” [2] and “ Lleida ” [3] .
In the summer of 2011, Rayo moved to the club of the Super League of Greece , Asteras Tripolis , where there were already several of his compatriots. In his first season, he scored five goals in the championship and three in the cup .
In the 2012/13 season Rayo improved his performance, scoring nine goals and giving 12 gears. In the final match of the Greek Cup against Olympiacos , he opened the scoring, but ultimately in extra time his team lost 1: 3 [4] . As a result, he was voted the best legionnaire of the season [5] . In addition, for most of his career in Greece, he was the captain of the Asteras.
On June 6, 2013, Rayo signed a three-year contract with Maccabi Haifa . In his first season, he scored 11 goals in 27 games and helped his new club take fourth place in the Israeli Premier League [6] . However, in March 2014, an incident occurred with the Bnei Yehuda player, Rafi Daan. In the tackle, Rayo injured his opponent's anterior cruciate ligament, which put him out of action for a year - Rayo received a straight red card for this tackle [7] [8] , and Daan could not recover, and he had to end his career [9] .
July 8, 2015 Rayo moved to the French club " Sochaux ", signing a two-year contract for an unnamed amount [10] . A year later he moved to the "Anorthosis" from the championship of Cyprus [11] .
