Member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR. He played in Moscow for the "Petrel". In the Moscow championship in 1953, he divided 4–5 places, and in the championship of the CA DSO “Iskra” (1954) - 1–2 places. Editor of the chess department of the newspaper "Soviet Russia". Author of many articles on various issues of chess.
