Biography

He graduated from the Ryazan Theological Seminary , left in it as a teacher.

In 1773 he was tonsured a monk.

In 1775 he was appointed law teacher to the Engineering Cadet Corps. He taught the Greeks invited to Russia, the Russian language.

In 1783 he was assigned to a mission to Venice. In 1799 he returned to Russia.

On August 4 ( 15 ), 1799 , he was elevated to the rank of Archimandrite of the Joseph-Volokolamsk Monastery and was appointed a member of the Ecclesiastical Commission in Moscow.

On December 19 ( 30 ), 1799 he was transferred to the post of rector in the Valdai Iversky Monastery .

On March 25 ( April 6 ), 1800 he was consecrated bishop of Sviyazhsky, vicar of the Kazan diocese .

In 1801 he testified and revealed the relics of the saint. Innocent of Irkutsk .

Consecrated in 1802 to the Bishop of Perm, Justin, during the twenty-year administration of the diocese, took care of the spread of Christian ideas among the people , organized a Theological Seminary, built a cathedral in Perm and helped found a sociable women's monastery in Yekaterinburg ( 1811 ).

On November 18, 1806 he was awarded the Order of St. Anne of the 1st degree. [2]

In 1823, Justin was fired, which was the result of an audit that revealed the numerous abuses of his assistants.

He died on January 31 ( February 12 ), 1826 . On February 5 ( 17 ), 1826 , His Grace Justin was buried under the altar of the cathedral, in the tomb of the bishops.
