History
Until the XIX century
It was first mentioned in the scribal books of Shelonskaya Pyatina in 1498, as the village of Ozertsa with the Church of the Archangel Michael, 4 churchyards, 1 yard the landowner in the Kotor churchyard in the Novgorod district [2] .

The village of Bolshaya Ozertsy , consisting of 32 peasant households and the estate of the landowners Golovichev and Golikov with it, are mentioned on the map of the St. Petersburg province of F. F. Schubert in 1834 [3] .

According to the map from the “Historical Atlas of St. Petersburg Province” of 1863, there was a manor , a chapel and a windmill in the village of Bolshaya Ozertsy [8] .
The collection of the Central Statistical Committee described it as follows:
MEDIUM OZERTSY - a former specific village at Lake Ozeretsky, yards - 19, residents - 95; shop. (1885) [9]
According to the statistics on the national economy of the Luga district in 1891, the Bolshaya Ozertsy manor with an area of 385 acres belonged to the merchant A. A. Konovalov, the manor was acquired in 1885 for 18,000 rubles; In addition, three estates in the village of Bolshiye Ozertsy belonged to petty bourgeois : one — S. and Ya. Alekseev, the second — V. Petrov and A. Ivanova, the third — A. Arkhipova, all estates were acquired before 1868 [10] .
In the 19th century, the village administratively referred to the 2nd camp of the Luga district of the St. Petersburg province, at the beginning of the 20th century - to the Poddubsky volost of the 4th district of the 4th camp.
According to the "Memorial Book of the St. Petersburg Province" for 1905, the village of Middle Ozertsy was part of the Poddudskoe rural society [11] .
Soviet period
From 1917 to 1923 the village was part of the Ozeretsky Village Council of the Poddubsky Volost of the Luga District.
Since 1923, as part of the Sredne-Ozeretsky Village Council of the Gorodetsky parish.
Since 1924, as part of the Krensky Village Council.
Since 1927, as part of the Luga parish, and then the Luga region.
Since 1928, as part of the Poddudsky Village Council [12] .
According to the data of 1933, the village was called Srednie Ozertsy and was part of the Poddubsky Village Council of the Luga District [13] .
From August 1, 1941 to January 31, 1944, the village was under occupation.
In 1958, the population of the village of Great Ozertsy was 183 people [12] .
According to the data of 1966, the village of Bolshie Ozertsy was also a part of the Poddubsky Village Council [14] .
According to the 1973 data, the village of Bolshaya Ozertsy was part of the Shiltsevsky Village Council [15] .
According to the 1990 data, the village of Bolshaya Ozertsy was part of the Retunsky Village Council [16] .
Post-Soviet time
In 1997, 37 people lived in the village of Bolshiy Ozertsy of the Retyunsky Volost, in 2002, 31 people (all Russians) [17] [18] .
In 2007, 45 people also lived in the village of Bolshiye Ozertsy of the Rethunsky JV [19] .

The village is located in the southern part of the district on the 41K-692 road ( Kreni - Big Lakes area).
The distance to the administrative center of the settlement is 18 km [19] .
The distance to the nearest railway station Serebryanka is 15 km [14] .
The village is located on the northern shore of Lake Wet .
