Professional career

Director of French radio and television broadcasting (from 1952 to 1974).

Spiritual path

The beginning of the spiritual path of Arno Desjardins was laid in the Parisian groups of Gurdjieff . There he met his first wife. According to Dejardin himself, starting with the Gurdjieff circles, the search for spirituality became fundamental in his life throughout 1949-1974 [3] . He went through the Cistercian monasteries, Japanese Soto-Zen monasteries, Hindu ashrams , khanaks of the Afghan Sufis (before the war), Tibetan gompas and in apprenticeship with individual Buddhist rinpoche . In 1965-1974 he was a student of the Indian sage, the Bengali Swami Prajnanpad ( Swami Prajnanpad ; 1891-1974), under whose guidance he practiced atma yoga ("spiritual yoga"; Eng. Atma-yoga ; French Adhyatma yoga ). The Indian guru also taught other French people (a total of nine people), including Dr. Frederick Lebouillet [4] .

Creativity

In his works, Desjardins talks about a person’s ability to achieve enlightenment , a person’s ability to understand his own nature and live forever free from fear . The path to enlightenment - sadhana among Hindus - is the only type of human activity that does not encounter obstacles. That one does not have to be victims of situations, but their students; not seekers of truth, but errors, with the goal of correcting them. That there are two laws of reality. The first is the law of difference. It is expressed by a simple phrase "if there are two (two), then both are different." The second is the law of change: every moment is not like the next. Desjardins teaches that truth is not discussed, and human thinking does not create truth, but something else. Freed from life of sensory emotions, a person remains with a constantly present sense of rational understanding of the heart . The greatest illusion is to imagine ourselves as the creator of what is happening, while through people it creates a single Life, a single cosmic Energy. There are only situations, and problems are created by human thinking. The solution to problems is not in solving them, but in overcoming them through personal, internal transformation. If you do not live with the thought that peace, good and tranquility can exist here and now, then they will never come. And live not the future, but the present. [five]
