History
From 1932 to 1935, countries were at war for the right to possess the disputed territory of Gran Chaco . This conflict was the most bloody Latin American war of the XX century . As a result of the war, Paraguay received 3/4 of the disputed territory of Chaco and the border between Bolivia and Paraguay currently passes along this line. Bolivia received, in a short space of time, access to the Paraguay River for the construction of the port, as well as the right to navigation through the territory of Paraguay [2] [3] .
On April 27, 2009 in Buenos Aires, the presidents of Bolivia - Evo Morales and Paraguay - Fernando Lugo , seventy years after the end of the war, signed an agreement on the final settlement of the state border in the Chak region [4] .
