Leonid Vasilievich Kamlochuk ( July 4, 1974 , Dubno ) - Ukrainian canoe rower , played for the Ukrainian team in the second half of the 1990s. Biography
Leonid Kamlochuk was born on July 4, 1974 in the city of Dubno, Rivne region of the Ukrainian SSR . He began to actively engage in rowing from early childhood, underwent training under the guidance of coach A. Maksimchuk, and at various times was a member of the sports societies Kolos, Dynamo, and Spartak.
He achieved his first serious success at the adult international level in 1999, when he joined the main team of the Ukrainian national team and attended the European Championships in the Croatian Zagreb, where he brought a bronze dignity award won in the program of four-seater crews a thousand meters together with rowers like Nikolai Dimakov , Dmitry Sablin and Roman Bundz - in the decisive race he was ahead of only the national teams of Russia and Romania.
Being one of the leaders of the rowing team of Ukraine, Kamlochuk successfully qualified for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney - he started at a kilometer distance in the standings of double canoes paired with Roman Bundz, but stopped at the semi-finals, where he finished sixth. Soon after the end of these competitions, he decided to end the career of a professional athlete, giving way to young Ukrainian rowers in the national team.
Subsequently, he worked as a kayaking and canoeing coach. Master of Sports of Ukraine of international class (1999) [1] .
