Jia Dorene Perkins ( born Jia Dorene Perkins ; born February 23, 1982 in Newburgh , NY , USA ) is an American professional basketball player who played for the Women's National Basketball Association . At the student level, she played for the Texas Tech Lady Ryders team at Texas Tech .

Career at VNBA
Perkins was selected in the 2004 WNBA draft in the third round under a 35-number club Charlotte Sting [1] . She almost completely missed her first season with professionals in connection with the birth of a child.
On November 16, 2005, Perkins was selected in the expansion draft by the Chicago Sky Club [2] . For Sky, Gia played five seasons, the best of which was the 2008 season for her, when she averaged 17 points per game.
In 2009, Perkins was selected to the team of the Eastern Conference to participate in the match of all the stars of the VNBA as a reserve player [3] .
Before the start of the 2011 season, she was traded at the San Antonio Stars for Michelle Snow [4] . In the same season, she played for the first time in her career in playoff games.
In February 2018, Perkins officially announced the end of her career [5] .
