Below is a list of the head coaches of the Israeli national football team , their statistics and achievements in the national team.
The Israeli Football Association is the forerunner of the Eretz Yisrael Football Association, founded in 1928 in Mandate Palestine . Since 1929 is a member of FIFA . The first official international match the Eretz Israel team held on March 16, 1934 against Egypt , and its first coach was Shimon Ratner .
After the creation of the state of Israel in 1948, his team first played in the AFC and won the Asian Cup in 1964 , but then its performances were boycotted in Asia due to the intensification of the conflict with the Arab states .
In the entire history of the national team, she had 31 head coaches, among whom were 12 foreign specialists. Three times the team was led by the acting head coach, as well as once the coaching tandem, consisting of Yitzhak Shneor and Yaakov Grundman . The current head coach of the team is Andreas Herzog .
The most successful coach of the team is Yosef Mirmovich , who won the gold medal of the Asian Cup in 1964 with the team. The most matches (82) were played by the team under coach Shlomo Sharf , who headed the team from 1992 to 1999. He also ranks first in the number of victories - 31.
