Story
Mick ( Harvey Keitel ) and Fred ( Michael Kane ) are friends for most of their lives. They are best friends, they like to laugh at each other all the time. Fred is a conductor and composer who has gained worldwide fame. He has already completed his career and is not going to return to his former life, because the years take their toll and it is already difficult for him to do anything. Mick is a distinguished director , even despite his old age, is still working on creating a script for a new film, which should put an end to his career. However, things are moving slowly, Mick is not as young as before, and his head does not have that clarity of thought as before.
Both heroes decided to relax in a picturesque place located at the foot of the Alps . Here men enjoy a quiet old age, and everyone shares his senile problems. Mick and Fred indirectly watch their children, who are confused in life and now do not know what to do. From the height of life experience, the characters judge the behavior of the environment and discuss the love problems of children. Mick continues to work on the script, inspiring other guests of the resort, while the Queen herself turns to Fred, who asks him to speak at the birthday of Prince Philip , but Fred refuses ...
Mick and his assistants complete the screenplay. The main role in it is intended to Brand: an aging star who has played in 11 previous films by Mick. Brenda suddenly arrives at the resort, and informs Mik about her decision to play future roles on television, rather than in movies. She says that cinema is a thing of the past, and that Mick has not made a single worthwhile film in recent years ...
