Vidoe Blagojević ( Serbian. Vidoje Blagojević / , born June 22, 1950 [1] in Bratunac ) is a Yugoslav and Serbian military commander, colonel of the Armed Forces of the Republika Srpska, who was found guilty of participating in the Srebrenica massacre .

Biography
Military Service
Born June 22, 1950 in the city of Bratunac (the center of the community of the same name ). Bosnian Serb by nationality. He served in the Yugoslav People's Army , had the rank of lieutenant colonel. After the collapse of Yugoslavia, he joined the Republika Srpska Armed Forces, and led the 1st Zvornik Infantry Brigade from the Drinsky Corps . In 1993, for several months he was chief of staff of the 1st Bratunatsky light infantry brigade, on May 25, 1995 he was appointed its commander. From July 6 to July 11, 1995, he participated in Operation Curve. Until 2001, he was in the General Headquarters of the Republika Srpska Army.
Srebrenica Massacre Case
On August 10, 2001, by order of SFOR, Blagoevich was arrested on charges of crimes against humanity, genocide, and violation of the rules of warfare. In particular, Blagoevich was accused of killing Bosnian civilians during the Srebrenica massacre . The defendants Dragan Jokić [2] and Dragan Obrenović passed the same case. All three denied guilty of genocide.
On January 17, 2005, the Hague Tribunal found Blagoevich guilty of genocide and sentenced him to 18 years in prison [3] . On May 9, 2007, after considering the appeal, the term was reduced to 15 years in prison, and the convict was sent to a prison in Norway on January 25, 2008 to serve his sentence [4] . On December 27, 2012, Blagojevich was released ahead of schedule, having served two-thirds of his sentence [5] [6] .
