Description
Spanish heraldic shield divided in half vertically into green and red . On the shield are two figures - a decorated Cossack powder flask in silver, located at the bottom, and a golden oak trefoil with two acorns in gold above it. The shield is inscribed in a decorative cartouche crowned with a city crown.
The Cossack powder flask made of horn indicates the name of the city, the legend about the founder of the city, the Cossack Horn, and another version - the formation of a cape (horn) at the confluence of the Ingulets and Saksagan rivers, as well as the past territory - until 1775 the territory belonged to the Zaporizhzhya Sich . The gunwoman speaks of the great potential and possibilities of the city, meaning the proverb "There is still gunpowder in the gunpowder!" And recalling the call "Keep gunpowder dry!"
A golden oak trefoil with two acorns is a symbol of strength, strength, wealth, deep roots and spiritual rebirth. It symbolizes the past, present and future, their inextricable connection, and as a living natural form - continuous development and renewal. Green means wealth, will, hope, joy; red - courage and virtues, love, courage, generosity; golden - wealth, strength, fidelity; silver - purity of thoughts and deeds.
