Club career

Almiron is a graduate of the Cerro Porteno Club. On March 10, 2013, in his match against the capital's Deportivo Capiata , he made his debut in Paraguayan Example [2] . On April 19, in a duel against Rubio New , Miguel scored his first goal for Cerro Porteno [3] . In 2013, Almiron helped the team win the Paraguayan championship .

In the summer of 2015, Miguel moved to the Argentinean Lanus . On September 14, in a match against Banfield , he made his debut in the Argentinean Example [4] . On March 12, 2016, in a duel against Racing , Almiron scored his first goal for Lanus [5] .

On December 5, 2016, Almiron moved to the future Atlanta United MLS club and signed a contract with him as a young designated player [6] . According to ESPN, the transfer amount was about $ 8 million [7] . On March 6, in his match against the New York Red Bulls , he made his MLS debut [8] . On March 13, in a duel against Minnesota United , Almiron scored twice, scoring his first goals for the club [9] .

January 31, 2019 Almiron signed a contract for five and a half years with the English club Newcastle United [10] . The amount of transfer amounted to 20 million pounds. This transfer has become the most expensive in the history of the club [11] .

International Career

On September 5, 2015, in a friendly match against the Chilean national team, Almiron made his debut for the Paraguayan national team [26] .

In 2016, Almiron took part in the America's Cup in the USA . At the tournament, he played in matches against teams in the USA [27] and Colombia [28] .
