Biography
Ivan Anichkov was born on February 19, 1863. [2] He descended from hereditary nobles of Borovichsky district of Novgorod province . His father was a colonel. Ivan Anichkov studied at St. Petersburg University [1] , graduated from the Faculty of Oriental Languages. Since 1888 in the public service [2] . In the 1890s, he was a district police judge of the Borovichsky district, a public official of Borovichsky Zemstvo [3] .
Then he worked in the scientific institutions of Turkestan and Orenburg [4] . From about 1899 he was a full member of the Orenburg Scientific Archival Commission. Since 1902 - an indispensable member of the Turgay regional government. Since June 12, 1904 - an indispensable member of the Kovno provincial presence [2] .
He published a number of articles on stone sculptures, burial mounds and other archaeological sites in the vicinity of Merk, in Kostanay, Kazaly districts, Torgai region, on the ancient settlement in the settlement of Besagash, Auliyeatinsky district, on Taraz and Sauran tower. In the work "The Forgotten Land", "The decline of the national economy in the Kyrgyz steppe" Anichkov describes the plight of the Kazakh people. The essay on the life of the peoples of Turkestan contains valuable information about everyday rituals and the way of life of the Kazakhs. The article “Kyrgyz hero Janhoja Nurmukhamedov” is devoted to the uprising of the Syr Darya Kazakhs. Historical and ethnographic information about the Kazakhs is given in the article "Monuments of Kyrgyz folk art" [5] , published in 1896 in the collection "Scientific writing of Kazan University" [4] .
In 1907 he moved to Novgorod, served in the Novgorod District Court. Consisted of various provincial institutions. He was an active participant in the Novgorod local history associations. Participated in archaeological excavations. In 1919 he studied the monastery archives. He worked in the postal department, later - in the Statistical Bureau. He combined service with history teaching in the Novgorod school. He died on August 10, 1921 from typhus. He was buried in the cemetery of the Spirit Monastery in Novgorod [3] .
