Pupil of Joseph Pembour and Franz Ludwig Marschner . Since 1904, he played the violin in the Innsbruck Orchestra, then he moved to Vienna and in 1907 he entered the newly created Tonkunstlerorkestr as an violist, from 1913 he conducted this band until 1927.
