Stegmeier, Ferdinand

Ferdinand Stegmayer ( German: Josef Ferdinand Stegmayer ; January 29, 1801 , Vienna - May 6, 1863 , Vienna ) - Austrian conductor and composer. The son of Matteus Stegmeier .

In childhood, together with his younger brother Wilhelm, he played in children's roles in the Vienna Burgtheater and Kerntnertortheater . He studied music under the guidance of Adalbert Girovets , Joseph Tribensee , Ignaz von Seifried , Emanuel Alois Förster . From 1817 he worked as a tutor in the opera Linz , about 1820 he worked in the same capacity at the Kernntnertortheater. From 1825, the bandmaster in Berlin, in 1830 he toured with the opera company in Paris, in 1831-1838. theater conductor in Leipzig, then in Bremen. In 1840 he arrived in Odessa as a music teacher in the house of Lev Naryshkin and Olga Pototskaya , studied with their daughter Sophia.
