Story
A suburb of London, the 1830s. Dr. Job rejoices in his next discovery - a completely new and highly effective poison. His daughter, Eve, announces to her father that she wants to marry, but does not know which of the two young people whose names she does not yet know. One regularly walks past her window when she is standing by his side. Another saved her life during the attack on her in the evening by hooligans. One of Dr. Job's patients, Lord Harley, appears and promises a reward to the one who cures him of boredom. The young man, Toby, does not know where to look for the girl in love. He decides to commit suicide, but, being in the house of Dr. Job, he changes his mind when he recognizes the girl he loves in Eve. Toby asks for her hand. Dr. Job is confused, he sets the conditions for a future marriage. Lord Harley was advised to marry in order to get rid of boredom, and suddenly he also asked for the doctor’s daughter’s hands.
