Sarn ( German: Sarn ) is a village and former commune in Switzerland , the canton of Graubünden . The population was 142 people in 2007. The official code is 3666 . On January 1, 2010, together with the communes of Portine , Prez and Tartar, it became part of the commune of Katsis , Viamala Region [1] .

In the elections in 2007, the largest number of votes was won by the Swiss People's Party (51.5%), 11.7% voted for the Christian Democratic People's Party of Switzerland , 18.7% voted for the Social Democratic Party of Switzerland , and 18 for the Free Democratic Party , 1% [2] .
Geographical position
Before the merger, Sarn Square was 7.60 km². 78.9% of the area was agricultural land, 15.1% - forests, 3.2% of the territory was inhabited, 2.8% occupied by natural objects [2] .
History
The commune was first mentioned in 1156 as Sarn [3] . On January 1, 2010, the communes of Portine , Pretz , Sarn and Tartarus became part of the commune of Katsis .
Population
In 2000, the Sarn population was 159 people (51.4% of men, 48.6% of women) [4] . 97.48% of the inhabitants spoke German, 1.94% spoke Italian [2] . 17.0% of the population were under the age of 9 years, 14.5% - from 10 to 19 years old, 5.0% - from 20 to 29 years old, 15.7% - from 30 to 39 years old, 16.4% - from 40 to 49 years old, 10.1% - from 50 to 59 years old, over 60 years old there were 21.4% of the population [5] .
