Ilanz ( German Ilanz ) - a former commune in Switzerland , the district center, was located in the canton of Graubünden . It was part of the district of Surselva . The official code is 3574 . On January 1, 2014, the communes of Ilanz, Kastrish , Ladir , Louvain , Pitash , Riain , Rushain , Schnaus , Sevgain , Duvin , Pignyu , Roueoun and Siat were united into a new commune, Ilanz-Glion [1] .

Geography

The area of ​​the commune was 4.67 km². 24.9% of the territory was agricultural land; 50.6% - forests; 18.7% - buildings and roads; the remaining 5.7% are not used (rivers, mountains, glaciers) [3] . Located on the river Front Rhine .

According to data for 2011, the population of the commune is 2327 people [3] . As of 2008, 15.4% of the population were citizens of other states [4] . As of 2000, 59.3% of the population called German as their mother tongue; 29.9% - Romansh and 3.3% - Serbo - Croatian [5] .
