Israfil ( Arabic. إسرافيل - Israel ) - in some translations: Asrafil [1] - herald of the Last Judgment in Islamic eschatology . One of the four (along with Djibril , Michael and Azrael ) angels- mukarrabun . Standing on Jerusalem's mountain, Israfil sounds the trumpet to announce the resurrection of the dead for the final judgment . Because of his connection with the trumpet, Israfil is sometimes called the “angel of music” [2] . Israfil is a creature of enormous size, he has four wings, his body is covered with hair, mouths, teeth. Israfil transmits the commands of Allah to other angels. Three times a day and once at night, Israfil cries over the torment of sinners in hell [3] .
