The commune was formed in 1836 by the merger of the communes of Bonneuil and Saint-Avi-de-Fumadier.

The commune is located approximately 480 km south of Paris , 55 km east of Bordeaux , 60 km southwest of Perigueux [1] .

In the north of the commune flows the river .

Climate

The climate is temperate oceanic [2] with an average level of precipitation, which falls mainly in the winter.
