Paranormal 5: Ghosts in 3D

The film begins with the ending of the third part of this series of films and a short continuation. After Dennis's body suddenly bends and he dies, Granny Lois takes Christie and Katie by the arms and takes them to the attic. While they are walking, someone takes a camera from the floor and also walks with them. In the attic, Lois introduces the girls to a man who claims to be personally acquainted with Toby (the demon from the movie series) under various names. Further, he tells them about a certain prophecy: Christie will have to give birth to a child who will be “chosen”, and Katie will be the central figure in the fulfillment of the prophecy.

The film takes place a month before Christmas. Ryan Flidge, his wife Emily, their daughter Leila and Skyler (a common friend of all the characters in the film) live in a private house. Soon, Michael Flidge, Ryan’s brother, moves to live in their house because he was abandoned by a girl because she does not want children. Soon, Ryan and Michael find the box in which the old camera lies, as well as the cassettes (from the second part of the film ). This is where everything is strange and starts to happen. Ryan turns on this camera and sets it up. Then he goes with the camera to the living room and discovers through the lens in the middle of the room a strange ghostly figure. However, he thinks this is just a camera glitch. Night came, and Ryan and Emily put Layla to sleep. Walking into the living room again, Ryan notices that the figure has disappeared. The next day, Ryan and Michael examine the camera from the inside. She was unlike everyone else. Then, Ryan, having heard the girl’s voices on the second floor of the house, enters Leila’s room and she says that she was talking with Toby’s friend. Next, Ryan and Michael play mysterious tapes out of the box. Records on them were shot from 1988 to 1992. On one of the tapes (called “Opening doors”) they see two girls (little Christie and Katie) and their grandmother Lois. The man (from the beginning of this film) brings Christie into a trance state. In a trance, she accurately describes Leila’s room, saying that "someone is there." After, the recording suddenly turns off along with the light and all the equipment in the room. In the evening, Ryan goes to Leila’s room, and sees the same ghostly figure. Michael, who was in the room, throws a ball at the camera to play it. And Ryan begins to realize that this camera is not broken, but is capable of recording what the human eye cannot see.

At night, Michael and Skyler go outside. Next, Skyler sets the camera. A racing black figure suddenly flies. Then, Skyler picks up the camera and walks with Michael to the pool. Michael and Skyler see the same black figure that sweeps over the pool. Then, Michael and Skyler go further into the bushes and suddenly notice Leila. Then, they go home with her. The next day, the whole family finds a hole in the bushes of their house in the bushes, in which Emily's rosaries lie. Everyone claims that it was Leila who buried them, so apparently she was on the street. At night, Ryan and Michael study the tapes again. On the screen of their TV shows some episodes shot in the third part of the film . After watching, Ryan goes to the bathroom and sees Leila standing in front of the mirror, who is saying something. Under it is visible a pool of blood. Ryan takes the girl out of the room, and cracks appear on the mirror. In the morning, Ryan and Skyler are watching a video of what Leila did last night. They realized that she was playing Bloody Mary . After that, Ryan and Michael find on the Internet information about Christy and Katie, and that their house once burned down long ago. It turns out that the house where the heroes of this film live was built exactly on that site. After all this, Ryan installs cameras in the house. One in the living room, and the second and third in Leila's room.

At night (not marked by a number in the film), a chandelier begins to swing in the living room, and Leila gets out of bed. Then, the girl goes down to the living room, and for several minutes looks at the Christmas tree. After which, she returns to bed, and the chandelier stops swinging.

First night. A black figure is visible on the camera in Leila’s room, crawling out from under the bed. Then the figure is next to the girl for several hours. Then Leila talks to her. A few minutes later, Emily comes into her daughter's room. Emily feels that for some reason she is cold (apparently due to the presence of a ghost). Emily puts Leila to sleep. Then you can see that Emily is standing right next to the black figure. Then Emily gets right on her, and the figure disappears. Emily approaches the camera, the figure appears again and quickly with a sound flies out from behind. The next day, Ryan asks Leila that she got up at night. She replies that a friend of Toby woke her. Then, Ryan and Michael look at one of the tapes and see one of the episodes of the third part of the film. After, a later episode is shown (not appearing in the third part of the film, recorded later). It shows the same man (who was at the beginning of this film), as well as little Christie and Katie. In the evening, Ryan and Michael heard a strange sound somewhere from Leila's room. They are going there. Ryan straightens the girl’s blanket, turns around and sees a black figure emitting a loud cry. The next day, Ryan and Michael study the frame from the recording on which this figure is visible. They see an inhuman face appear on her. Soon, Ryan rearranges the camera from Leila’s room to the entrance to her room.

Third night . The camera again captures a figure sliding from the ceiling into Leila's room. Then the girl gets out of bed and goes into the living room. She takes the Bible book from her parents' room, picks the sheets from it and throws them into the fireplace. After, Emily goes to Leila and puts her to bed. A black figure on the ceiling flies down from the ceiling to the first floor. Then an angel suddenly falls from a Christmas tree in the living room. In the morning, Emily tells Skyler last night's events. They had long realized that something paranormal was going on in the house. Then, Emily tells Leila not to talk to Toby anymore. After that, Ryan and Michael again watch the tapes on which they see that Christy and Katie are being taken care of by their grandmother (Lois) instead of their mother. They also see the same man who was shown at the beginning of the film. Ryan believes that he is preparing girls for something, and that this man is their main man.

Fourth night. Leila gets out of bed again, and Ryan and Michael continue to watch the tapes. On one of them they again see the same Christie in a trance state. Only she says that she sees in a trance something completely different: food, a lot of TVs, a bunch of toys, two male brothers looking at her. Then Christie screams loudly and Leila arrives immediately. She says she can't sleep, and then she sneezes. The next day, Ryan shows Emily and Skyler how Leila sneezed and Christy, looking at her, said, "Be healthy." Ryan immediately had suspicions that Christy and Katie were watching everything that was going on in the house. Then, Leila begins to draw something on the wall of her room. Next, Emily discovers the characters that Layla painted around the picture. In the evening, Emily shows them to Ryan. He says that they are connected with witches and devils. At night, Ryan and Emily hear sounds from Leila's room. They came there and see a girl standing in front of the balcony and playing the flute. Some impulses come out of the flute. Emily then puts Layla to sleep. Further, she says that "someone wants to pick her up." Then, Ryan leaves the room, moves away from her and turns around. He saw a male figure in front of Leila’s room and, thinking that it was Michael, came up to her. Then, he turns around again and sees that she has disappeared. Then Ryan and Emily again came to Leila, went to her balcony, and a black figure instantly flew out with a loud sound. The next day, Emily calls the priest to help the family eliminate the phenomena. Then, she comes to Leila and tells her what she did and said last night. Leila claims that she does not remember anything, and then monotonously bangs a toy figure. After, priest Todd comes. Emily and Ryan explain to him what is going on in the house, and then show the camera recordings. Father Todd says Leil is being haunted by a demon. Emily and Ryan say we need to leave home. And the priest insists, and says that the demon will follow them, and that he feeds on our fear. Then, Father Todd asks to speak with Leila, spreads holy water on her head, and asks about her “interesting” friend. In response, silence, and after a while everything reaches the limit: Leila attacks the priest. Father Todd asks everyone to remain calm and himself promises to come up with something about Leila. Later, Ryan and Emily try to find information about their home. They think that someone settled them in this house on purpose, that this is someone else's plot.

Sixth night. Emily is sleeping in her daughter's room. The same black figure is visible on the camera shooting towards this room. It costs a few seconds, and the camera falls off the tripod. Ryan runs to the camera and sees that she fell. Then Emily wakes up, saying what happened to the camera. Suddenly, Leila wakes up and says: "Do not be afraid, mommy." Immediately after that, a toy suddenly turns on in the room. Ryan asks Emily to be with Leila. Then downstairs in the living room he spots Michael. Ryan sees the same black figure behind him. She stands behind Michael for about 10 seconds, and then flies behind his head. Michael immediately felt her. Ryan goes down to him. He points the camera upstairs and asks Emily not to go into the living room yet. Then he directs down and immediately sees the same rushing black figure. Ryan and Michael run into the kitchen and hide at the table. Peering out from under him, Ryan saw a black figure approaching him. Hid again. Again peeps from under the table and sees that this figure is almost next to him. Then all the kitchen cabinets and drawers suddenly open. Ryan and Michael leave the kitchen. The next day, Ryan watches the same tapes. On the TV screen, episodes from the end of the third part of the film are visible. For example, how Dennis's body twisted. Ryan shows Emily's record. She comments negatively on her. Then, Ryan and Michael go to the police station, telling Emily that they will come soon. Emily goes to Leila and offers her to go down and play. She refuses, saying that she is well here. Meanwhile, the camera shows that the light falling on the floor from the windows, as well as a black figure crawling out from under the floor, disappears. Emily again offers her daughter to go down. Suddenly Leila suddenly laughs and again refuses. Emily leaves the room and takes the camera with her. Approaching the room again. Approaching the door, Emily saw a black figure next to Leila in the form of a demon with a scary face. The demon looked at her and the door slammed shut unexpectedly. Emily tries to open it. After a few seconds, the door opens and Emily sees that the figure has disappeared. Emily takes Leila out of the room and swears at the demon. Later, Ryan searches for one of the tapes, and also shows Skyler a photo that he found in the police station. It depicts Hunter (from the fourth part of the film) and information about him, including his date of birth. It turns out that Hunter and Leila were born on the same day (June 6, 2005). And also the fact that Katie killed Christie and the whole Hunter family. Police have been looking for him and Katie for several years. Ryan finds that cassette. Plays a 1992 recording, and shows her Skyler. Hunter was on record. For some reason, he appeared on an old record (when he had not even been born). Later, Skyler goes into the living room and finds Leila, who is sitting on the fireplace and looking up. Layla tells Skyler to move away from her.

Seventh night. In the room of Leila, the symbols that she painted around the picture on the wall light up. Leila wakes up, goes to the camera and looks at her. Then, around the symbols, a portal forms in the wall. From the portal you hear someone's voice: "Leila, play with me." The girl goes into it. An hour later, an impulse comes out of the portal, which drops the camera from the table. Ryan goes into the room and picks it up. The whole family is trying to find Leila, thinking that she was missing somewhere. Then, Emily and Ryan find the girl in her own room. Later, the whole family with Leila goes to spend this hectic night at the hotel. In the morning, Skyler and Michael come to pick up things that they forgot in the house. However, Skyler finds some drawings in Leila’s room. They portray the Beast of the Apocalypse, and Skyler in the book “The Path of Lucifer” finds a message stating that the blood of some two people born under the same moon should bring back to life a certain prince of darkness. Skyler and Michael realized that these people are Leila and Hunter. Their blood is needed for the demon to gain human flesh. Suddenly, a sound is heard from the corridor. Skyler and Michael go there and see that the door of the house is open. Then, they go to Leila’s room. They see that for some reason the girl is there, and not at the hotel, scratching something in the wall with her hands (apparently a portal) and saying that she is going to "give someone life." Later, Ryan and Emily come, and Father Todd comes. Emily says that when she and Ryan dozed off at the hotel, Leila was no longer with them. She just appeared in her room. Father Todd says that there is only one way to save Leila. And also the fact that exorcism is a means for those who are obsessed with the devil, and therefore, the demon must be completely destroyed. Father Todd is developing a plan to expel the demon from Leila's body: it is necessary to soak the sheets on which Ryan and Emily slept in holy water, draw the symbol of the Key of Solomon on the floor, drive the demon on this symbol, and then throw it with sheets. The priest says that Leila is connected with a prophecy according to which witches will try to bring one demon back to life. They will give him flesh and let him descend to Earth, and Leila and Hunter should help them. Father Todd reads prayers. Emily is looking for Leila, Ryan washes the sheets, Skyler draws the Key of Solomon symbol, and Michael removes the carpet from the center of the floor so that nothing would interfere with the ritual of expelling the demon from Leila's body. The priest asks to pour salt around the symbol to provoke a demon. Real chaos begins. The demon shakes the house violently. Emily brings Leila to the symbol of the Key of Solomon. Father Todd recites prayers that are supposed to drive the demon out of her body. Further events develop as follows:

Endings:

1. Original ending (available in television and online versions of the film). Following the statements of the director of the film, Gregory Plotkin, we can assume that this ending is true and canonical.

While reading the prayer by Father Todd, Leila’s eyes open sharply and turn black, after which she says the phrase: “He knows what you are doing.” After that, the light in the house abruptly goes out. The cries, moans and roar of a demon are heard. Emily turns on night vision on the camera so that everything that happens is visible. Then you can immediately see Father Todd, who is grabbed by a demon and dragged somewhere (his further fate is unknown, however, based on an alternative ending, we can assume that he is dead), then the demon growls louder, starts throwing tables and chairs. In the end, manages to lure him to the place where the symbol of the Key of Solomon is drawn. After that, the characters of the film throw sheets at him, and Emily reads a prayer, after reading which the demon disappears. It would seem that everything is in order, but all of a sudden, Skyler spits on Michael with acid, which kills both, and Leila runs away to her room. Ryan and Emily are chasing the girl. Ryan is also killed by a demon during a chase and a long arm protrudes from it. Then he jumps back. Then Emily sees how Leila enters a certain portal in the wall that appeared in this film. Without hesitation, Emily follows her. While she is there, the camera shows only interference. 2. Альтернативная концовка (доступна исключительно в DVD-версии фильма). Исходя из утверждений Грегори Плоткина (режиссёра фильма), сюжетной не является, однако по утверждениям некоторых фанатов, как раз сюжетной является.
