Content
Geographical position
It is located 6 km east of the administrative center of the rural settlement of the village of Pekshiksola , 5 km north of the administrative center of the village. Medvedev and 7 km north-east of the capital of the republic, the city of Yoshkar-Ola .
In the southeast, the village is actually adjacent to the border of the city. In the south, adjacent to the border of the village of Shoyadur .
The village is located 1.5 km north of the regional highway Yoshkar-Ola - Sanchursk - Yaransk .
2 km north-east of the village flows the Big Oshla River .
History
The formation of the Novy settlement is associated with the construction of a peat enterprise on the basis of the Arban peat massif. On September 7, 1943, the State Defense Committee of the USSR ordered the People's Commissariat of the RSFSR to proceed with this task. On September 15, the Council of People's Commissars of the Mari Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic adopted a resolution in which it set tasks for departments to assist in the construction of an industrial enterprise, the construction of premises for workers (in the amount of 1,500 people), which could begin to prepare peat areas.
In the early years of the Arban peat enterprise, people lived in barracks. Some specialists and workers managed to build private houses. In 1945, a kindergarten with 40 places was opened. In 1952, the settlement of the Arban peat enterprise was renamed the village of Novy. In 1976, on a shared basis with the Prigorodniy state farm, the foundation was laid for the construction of comfortable housing, a boiler house, treatment facilities and a water tower with a well. In 1980, peat producers received the first 18 comfortable apartments. On the site of the existing barracks, 3 apartment buildings were built. In 1984, the construction of a comfortable 27-apartment building was launched.
The wooden building of the eight-year school, built in the early 1950s , became emergency, and in 1991 the secondary school was located in a new building with a swimming pool.
