| The series includes black-and-white flashbacks, from which it becomes clear how the idea was born of taking a huge crowd of people away from Alexandria. The day after the death of Pete and Reg Monroe, a group of three people headed by Heath returned to Alexandria. Diana forbids burying Pete's body inside the walls of the community; Rick and Morgan take him away to the west and bury him in the forest. Rick comes to a strange noise, after which they find a quarry filled with several thousand walking. Departures from the quarry are blocked by waggons, but, attracted by the noise, the new dead are constantly falling into it. Suddenly, Ron appears - the son of Pete, who followed Rick and Morgan. He is pursued by walking. Rick saves Ron from imminent death and promises to teach survival. Returning to Alexandria, Rick proposes to take the walking walk away. Diana supports his proposal. At the intersection of two roads, community residents are building a wall of metal shields to guide the movement of the herds of walking. From the forest comes a group of dead, plunging the "old" inhabitants of Alexandria into horror. Rick realizes that they are not able to protect themselves from possible dangers. In the community, Eugene accidentally hears an old-timers conversation, in which Carter urges to stop Rick as being a danger to all of them. Eugene is discovered, Carter takes it, but Rick appears and disarms Carter. Having gathered around the quarry, the residents of the community, headed by Rick, finish the preparations, but the wagon blocking the road for the walkers breaks off a cliff, and Rick decides to start acting immediately. Daryl, Abraham and Sasha lead the flock behind them, a few people clear the way, the rest with the help of signal rockets direct walking and eliminate those who stray from the main group. One of those walking bites Carter's face. Cries of Carter can distract the flock from moving along the desired route, and Rick kills him. Suddenly, from the east side there is a loud buzz, because of which part of the walking turns into the forest. | ||||||

From the watch tower, Spencer sees a truck that quickly approaches the wall surrounding Alexandria and crashes into it. At the same time, the horn that attracts part of the walkers from the highway, along which they are led by Rick, Michonn and others, is triggered. Spencer comes down to turn it off. To help Spencer comes Morgan, who managed to return to the city. Morgan calls Spencer with him to save unarmed members of the community, but he is afraid and does not go. However, only Daryl, Abraham and Sasha answer. Squeezing his bloody left hand, he says that you need to go to the end, otherwise everything that was before will be in vain. At this point, Rick is attacked by the wolves released by Morgan, but he manages to cope with all. But, having sat behind the wheel, it is not possible to start the minibus (during the attack one of the “wolves” damaged the machine control panel with shots).
