Shelanger

The village is located 40 km northeast of the center of the municipal district - the city of Zvenigovo .

The village of Shelanger owes its origin to the construction of the Zeleny Dol - Yoshkar-Ola railway in 1927 and the emergence of a railway station near the village of the same name .

Soon, the Shelanger forestry appeared, which was subordinate to the Suslonger forestry. A club was built in the village, a room was allocated for the hospital. There was a sawmill in Shelanger, but a little later it was transported to the village of Suslonger .

In 1933, an elementary school was opened at the Shelanger station in an old hut. In 1941, the elementary school was transferred to the club of the village of Lesokhimzavod until 1944 , after which the classes were conducted in various barracks.

In 1934, a Zagotzern point was established in the village. Grain came here from the Zvenigovsky, Morkinsky , Sotnursky regions. A lot of it went from here to other regions and republics.

In 1937, Sergei Polezhaykin, who arrived from Mordovia, joined the Zagotzerno office. Sergey Ivanovich worked in Zagotzern until 1939 . In October 1943, he died the death of the brave under the city of Kretinga , and he was posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union .

In the village of Shelanger in the 50s and 80s, new residential buildings, shops, warehouses were built, the old wooden post office replaced the new, stone one.

The village council was formed in the village of Shelanger on March 17, 1966 . On January 1, 1968, an inter-collective farm construction organization Markolkhozstroyobedineniya was created in Zvenigov. The first construction site was the Shelanger collective farm named after Ulyanov. In June, installation and construction work began. In September, according to the recollections of the district architect V.I. Alekseev, more than 800 people worked on a small patch. The main facilities of the complex were ready by early October of that year. The official launch of the complex after eliminating some deficiencies took place on December 31, 1968 .

In the village is the Shelanger chemical plant "Siver" . Created on the basis of timber processing plants, located somewhat away from the village, the chemical plant until the end of the 1970s was the center of the village of Lesohimzavod, which on June 2, 1979 became part of the village of Shelanger.

At the end of 1995, the state farm opened its own meat processing plant, designed to process 10 tons of meat per shift, built on the initiative of the director. In a very short time, the sales market was conquered not only in Mari El, but also in the nearest regions. In 1999, the state farm "Zvenigovsky" received a certificate of participation in the All-Russian competition program "100 best goods of Russia."

An obelisk monument to soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War was erected in the village.
