Description
Butterflies of small sizes with front wings pointed to the apex. The bands of the front wings are darker and narrower than that of the closely related species Doryodes spadaria , but wider than that of D. desoto , and also differs in the structure of the genitals. The span of the front wings of males is 16.5 mm. Fore wings tan; have longitudinal stripes. The antennae of males are comb-like. The abdomen is elongated, eyes are round, ocelli are absent. The species was first described in 2015 by American entomologists Donald Lafontaine ( J. Donald Lafontaine , Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Ottawa , Canada ) and Bolling Sullivan ( J.
