Coat of arms of Malaysia

The Malaysian coat of arms depicts two tigers standing on their hind legs - a symbol of courage and strength. Each of them with one paw rests on a yellow ribbon with the slogan in Malay "In unity - strength" (the motto is repeated twice: in Latin and in Javi - arabized writing), while others support a shield. Above the shield is a yellow crescent and a star with 14 equal rays. On the shield from above - five national daggers - kris - a symbol of five former non-federated Malayan principalities ( Johor , Kedah , Perlis , Kelantan , Terengganu ). On the left on the shield is a areca palm tree and an image of a bridge over the water - a symbol of Penang , on the right - a malacca tree - a symbol of the state of Malacca , which formerly belonged to the Straits-Settlements colony. In the center - from left to right the same size red, black, white and yellow rectangles - the colors of the former federated Malay principalities: black and white - Pahanga , red and yellow - Selangora , black, white and yellow - Peraka , red, black and yellow - Negeri -Simbelan . Below on the left - the symbol of the state of Sabah , on the right - the image of the hornbill - the symbol of the state of Sarawak , between them - the national flower hibiscus (paradise bunga).
