Nizhniy Pyanj ( taj. Pangi Poyon ) is a village in the Kumsangir district of the Khatlon region of Tajikistan . Located on the banks of the river Panj . The village has a checkpoint on the border with Afghanistan and a bridge over the Pyanj , which was opened in 2007.

In the 1930s, it became the end point of the narrow-gauge railway Stalinabad -Nizhny Pyanj (dismantled in the 1990s). In 1932, Nizhny Pyanj received the status of an urban-type settlement. In the 1970s, it lost this status and became a rural locality.
