Biography

Ram was born May 15, 1988 [1] in the family of Muralimohan Potineni and his wife Padmashri. He also has a Madhusmith sister. His uncle Saravanti Ravikishor is a film producer. Since childhood, the boy wanted to become an actor, and in order to prepare for the shoot, he attended various courses, studying acting, dancing, horseback riding, juggling, etc. [2] At age 12, he played in the short Tamil film ID [2] .

A full-fledged debut of the actor in the movie took place with Ileana de Cruz in the film " Devdas " (2006). The director of the film initially wanted to star in a leading role a famous person, but after two popular actors refused him, he decided to take a newcomer. The idea to invite Rama to the role came when he saw photos of the boy on his uncle's computer. The future hero of the film at that time was 16 years old [3] . The film was the first commercially successful film of the year [4] . Critics praised the young actor, noting that he works well in front of the camera [5] [6] , and the film community has awarded him the Filmfare Awards South statuette for best debut [7] .

A year later, when Ram was taking his final exams, his second film Jagadam , shot by Sukumar and not particularly successful at the box office, was released [2] . However, the reviews were good, Aditya Vardhan from Rediff.com wrote that the actor did a good job, proving that he was not just another one-day star [8] . " Always Ready " with Zhenelia de Souza directed by Srino Whitela and producer Ravikishor Potineni, released in 2008, was the first big hit in Rama's career. Critics praised his acting skills, especially his comic component [9] [10] . The actor was also nominated for the Filmfare Awards South for Best Actor [11] .

At the beginning of 2009, Ram appeared in the action movie B. Gopal Maska paired with Hansika Motwani . During the production of the film, he received several minor injuries and completed shooting with a sore knee [2] . After the release, the picture already in the first week collected 10 crore [12] . Critics gave the actor a positive assessment of the game, separately praising dance skill [13] [14] . Another film of this year was Ganesh Director Saravanan with Kajal Agarwal and 23 child actors [2] . The picture was not successful at the box office, but brought Ram positive reviews [15] [16] . His only film the following year was Rama Rama Krishna Krishna . Radhika Rajamani of Rediff.com wrote about his role in the film: “He is impudent, frivolous, but self-confident. He is amazing in dancing and performs several reckless tricks ” [17] .

Another big hit in his career was the film "Hornet" (2011), in which Ram again worked with Hansika. The picture showed itself well at the box office, having come to the taste of both youth and the family audience [18] . Sunita Chaudhary of The Hindu called Rama the main power of the film, but adding that Rama needs to change his style to get rid of the smack of monotony [19] . And Suresh Kawirayani, in his review for The Times of India, noted that “his lively play and funny presentation of dialogs enlivens the screen” [20] . The following year, the romantic melodrama Endukante ... Premanta! A. Karunakarana with Tamanna Bhatia . She failed at the box office [21] and received mixed reviews from critics, however, noting the excellent play of the main characters [22] [23] .

The beginning of 2013 was marked by the release of the comedy action movie "Hot Chili" Bhaskara where Ram starred with Kriti Kharbanda and Prakash Raj . Kartik Pasupate of The Times of India praised the actor’s performance as “characteristically violent” [24] , and Vishnupriya Bhandaram of The Hindu called his hero “the quintessential know-it-all and handyman”, adding that the actor got all the sharpness and punchy dialogs [25] . In the same year, Masala was released, a remake of the Bollywood comedy “Deceiver Involuntarily” . Other roles in the film were played by Venkatesh , Anjali and Shazan Padamsi . In the reviews of the film, it was said that Ram is exceptionally good in all comedy scenes and copes well with the image of a non-traditional character [26] [27] .

After his last three films showed themselves poorly, Rama was not visible on the big screen for a year [28] . Finally, in May 2015, his next film Pandaga Chesko with Rakul Prith Singh and Sonal Chauhan . The picture showed an average box office. Suresh Kawirayani in a review for Deccan Chronicle noted that the actor “looks good as a representative of the Indian diaspora and copes with character transfer perfectly” [29] . Along with the filming of Pandaga Chesko, Ram starred in two more films: Sivam and Hari Katha [28] . Sivam , released in October 2015, received negative reviews from critics who called it long and boring, Rama was the only one worth watching the film for [30] .
