Shantha Sinha ( Eng. Shantha Sinha , Telugu శాంతా సిన్హా ; January 1, 1950, Nelluru , India ) - Indian teacher, professor at Hyderabad University , social worker, social activist, well-known fighter using child labor . Biography
Shantha Sinha was born in the city of Nelluru in 1950. She received primary and secondary education in Secunderabad [1] . Then she studied at the high school of Keyes High School in Secunderabad.
She continued her education at the University of Osmania . In 1970, she completed her studies, defending a master's degree in political science. In 1976, she received a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Jawaharlal Nehru .
Now Shantha Sinha is an academician at the University of Hyderabad. In 2003, she was awarded the international Ramon Magsaysay Prize [2] . Earlier in 1999, she was awarded the Padma Sri Order [3] and the Albert Shanker International Prize.
Public activist actively fighting for children's rights. Her activities have led to a massive reduction in the use of child labor in Andhra Pradesh. Recognizing the contribution of the human rights defender, the Indian government appointed her the first chairman of the newly formed National Commission for the Protection of the Rights of the Child.
