Description
Ants are small in size (from 2.2 to 2.5 mm), yellow. The width of the head is 0.46 - 0.54 mm (the length of the head is 0.48 - 0.56 mm), the length of the scape of the antenna is 0.42 - 0.50 mm. Antennae 11-segmented, mace 3-segmented. The branches are triangular, with 4-5 teeth. Mandibular palpi 4-segmented, lower labial palpi consists of 3 segments. Antennah grooves and frontal ridges absent. The breast is thin and long. Posterior chest with two long propodeal spines, curved upwards and forwards. The stalk between the breast and the abdomen consists of two segments: the petiole and the postpetiole (the latter is clearly separated from the abdomen), the sting is developed, the pupae are bare (without cocoon). The taxon was first described by larvae in 1954 by American myrmecologists George and Janette Wheelers (Wheeler, GC & Wheeler, J., Department of Biol.ogy, University of North Dakota , USA ) from materials from the island Java from Indonesia as a subspecies under the original name Trigonogaster recurvispinosa subsp. kemneri Wheeler, GC & Wheeler, J. 1954. In 1992, the English myrmecologist Barry Bolton ( The Natural History Museum , London , UK ) was elevated to species status and received a modern name. The specific name is given in honor of N. A. Kemner (NA Kemner), who collected the type series [2] [3] [1] .
