Geography
The village is located in the forest-steppe , on the western margin of the Barabinsk lowland , belonging to the West Siberian Plain , on the right bank of the Irtysh River [2] . Height above sea level - 81 meters [3] . In the vicinity of the village common chernozems are common [4] .
On motor roads, the distance to the regional center of the city of Omsk is 35 km (to the city center), to the district center of the village of Rostovka 45 km [5] .
Near the village passes the federal highway A320 (Omsk - Cherlak - the border with Kazakhstan ).
- Climate
The climate is sharply continental , with significant temperature differences in winter and summer (according to the Köppen climate classification - humid continental climate (Dfb)). The multi-year average rainfall is 385 mm. The greatest amount of precipitation falls in July - 61 mm, the smallest in March - 14 mm. The average annual temperature is positive and is + 1.4 ° С, the average temperature of the coldest month of January is 17.5 ° С, the hottest month of July is + 19.7 ° С [3] .

History
The first temporary settlement on the site of the modern village, Ust-Zaostrovsky stanets, appeared in 1717-1721. The stanza was used by the Cossacks from time to time during the hikes for a short rest. [ what? ] The first data about the settled settlement around the Ust-Zaostrovsky outpost in 1759. As well as the fortified points of the border line, the outpost was protected by moats and earthen ramparts up to two fathoms high. The outpost and stanza garrisons consisted of 30-40 Cossacks , who carried the patrol, guarding the surrounding places from the Dzungar raids. In 1782, there were 18 Cossack courtyards, in them 149 people: 35 Cossacks carried the frontier service, 8 Cossacks were retired, the rest were members of their families. Later, in Ust-Zaostrovka, their huts were built and the farm and the exiled peasants were established [7] .
In 1846, the settlement received the status of the village. Among the residents of the village were people from the Don , Vyatka , Chernihiv , Ustyug , Perm , Siberian peasants and townspeople from Tobolsk , Tyumen , Tara , Surgut . From the first years of the stanitsa's existence, warders were sent here for work. Among the exiles were many serfs who were sent to Siberia "for violence against the landowners" [7] .
In 1920, a council was chosen at the gathering. In 1927, a Komsomol cell was formed in the village. In 1928 the artel "Khleborob" was organized, initially uniting 11 farms. In 1930, the Voroshilov collective farm was formed. In 1936, the Ordzhonikidze collective farm was separated from the farm [7] .
On the fronts of the Great Patriotic War , 32 inhabitants of Ust-Zaostrovka died [7] .
In the post-war years, a new secondary school, a children's factory, and new shops, a church building, and a cultural and leisure center were built. In the 60-70-ies of the XX century Ust-Zaostrovka was the third branch of the state farm "Memory of Chapaev" [8]
