Definition

In Austria, Ortschaft ( German: Ortschaft ) is a special statistical, postal, cadastral or administrative unit below the community (municipal) level . It is used for additional fragmentation of political communities, including parishes, into smaller units (urban areas and quarters, villages, villages, hamlets, parts of rural and urban settlements) in statistical (used as a local settlement unit in official statistics by the Austrian Statistical Office) and other purposes (as a mailing address, for spatial planning, land cadastre, etc.). The decision to create, liquidate or change such units is made at the provincial (land) or municipal level. Such divisions are assigned names and digital codes at the legislative level: for post offices - postal codes ( German Postleitzahlen ), for local administrative divisions - identification codes Ortschaftskenciffer ( German Ortschaftskennziffern [OKZ] ), for cadastral communities - cadastral number ( German Katastralgemeden [KGNR] ), for statistical communities - the official statistical codes of Zelshprengel ( German: Zählsprengel [ZSP] ) and (or) Celbetsirk ( German: Zählbezirke [ZB] ). Ortschaftskenziffer

Ortschaftskenziffer is an identification code of settlements and settlements in Austria . The Austrian Statistical Office for the purpose of administrative-territorial unification of all more or less significant settlements (cities, villages, towns, etc.) assigned five-digit identification codes of Ortschaft senziffer , starting with the number 00001 assigned to the city of Eisenstadt . As of January 11, 2016 in Austria, there were 2100 political communities, which were divided into 17 256 orthospheres . [2]
