Geography
The municipality and city of Poinset lies in the river valley, Verse , 16 kilometers east of Chateaubriand , in the so-called “quadrangle” formed by the cities of Rennes-Laval-Angers-Nantes. Administratively, Punas is the center of the eponymous canton, which is part of the Segre district.
Attractions
- The 15th-century clock tower, the old dovecote and the 17th-century salt storage are protected historical sites.
- The ruins of a castle dating from the 13th – 15th centuries located above the city in the Verse Valley are also included in the list of historical monuments of France. The walls of the 13th century are surrounded by 11 towers.
- Buildings in the Renaissance style of the 15th century, buildings of the 17th century, lavoires and an old mill are preserved in the city center.
