Recurvidris browni (lat.) Is a species of small ants of the genus Recurvidris from the myrmycin subfamily. Endemics of Southeast Asia [1] [2] .

Southeast Asia : Indonesia , Malaysia and Thailand [1] [2] .

Description

Small ants (2.6 - 2.8 mm), yellow. The width of the head is from 0.49 to 0.54 mm (the length of the head is from 0.54 to 0.58 mm), the length of the scape of the antennae is from 0.44 to 0.50 mm. Antennae 11-segmented, mace 3-segmented. The mandibles are triangular, with 4-5 teeth. The mandibular palps are 4-segmented, the lower labial palps composed of 3 segments. Antennal grooves and frontal ridges absent. The chest is thin and long. Posterior breast with two long propodeal spines, bent up and forward. The stalk between the breast and the abdomen consists of two segments: the petiolus and postpetiolus (the latter is clearly separated from the abdomen), the sting is developed, pupae are naked (without cocoon). The taxon was described in 1992 by the English worldmecologist Barry Bolton ( The Natural History Museum , London , UK ) and named after the American worldmecologist Professor William L. Brown (Jr.) [1] [3] [2] .
