The crater formed about 3.7 billion years ago after a collision with Mars a large asteroid. Later, a meteorite fell near the crater, which formed the Holden crater with a diameter of 140 kilometers, filling a part of the Eberswalde funnel. The discovered channel with a delta , covering an area of about 115 square kilometers, fed the lake inside the crater. According to scientists, the delta was covered with sedimentary rocks, but later opened due to erosion [1] .
