This line was not built as a whole and consists of sections laid at different times. In 1873, the Jelgava- Mazeikiai railway line was built, from which the Jelgava-Liepaja line inherited the Jelgava-Gluda section, and in 1925 the construction of the Gluda-Liepaja section began, and therefore the second route was laid on the Jelgava-Gluda section . The Glлуda - Liepaja section was discovered in 1929 [5] . Due to a lack of funds for the modernization of rolling stock, on August 15, 2001 passenger communication on the line was discontinued [6] . Before the cancellation, the Riga - Liepaja train ran twice a day [7] . The passenger service was opened again after 5 years - March 30, 2006. The Kurzeme diesel train of superior comfort, which stopped only at large stations, ran on the line [8] . From March 31, 2006 to January 1, 2008 the train also stopped at the Broceni station, from September 5, 2011 a stop was added at the Biksta station, from June 1, 2014 the Liepaja train stops in Olaine [9] . From February 15, 2010 until the end of May 2015, the train runs on Fridays and Saturdays from Riga and Saturdays and Mondays from Liepaja [10] . From March 30 to the end of May 2014, the train was often canceled due to the repair of the Skrunda railway bridge [11] . From February 1 to May 24, 2015 (inclusive), on Saturdays in the afternoon, the joint train Lebanon - Riga - Liepaja ran.
