Amethi is a county in the Faizabad region in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh . It was founded on July 1, 2010 , by combining three technical forces of the Sultanpur district (Amethi, Gauriganj and Musafirkhana) and two technical forces of the Rai Bareli district (Salon and Tiloi). Previously called Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Nagar. The administrative center is the city of Gaerigange . Area - 3,063 km². The population is 1,500,000 people (as of 2013). Consists of 4 administrative units of the 3rd level (technical force).
