Biography
Fyodor Filippovich Borodkin was born in the city of Lbischensk, Ural Region (currently the village of Chapaev, West Kazakhstan Region ). He graduated in 1925 from 10 classes of the school. He worked as a turner at a local factory, in 1935 he moved to the city of Mikhailovka in the Stalingrad region . He worked as a turner in a machine and tractor workshop.
In June 1941, he was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army , from February 1942 on the fronts of World War II . He fought on the Southwestern and North Caucasian fronts.
On July 7, the 1943 Guard guard, the Red Army soldier Borodkin was awarded the medal "For Military Merit" , because from May 26 to May 28, 1943, with his calculation, he repelled 7 enemy counterattacks, destroying 50 enemy soldiers.
In the battles for the liberation of Crimea, on January 22, 1944, he reconnoitered the enemy’s positions, and on January 23, during an assault on anonymous height north-east of the city of Kerch , Sergeant Borodkin was the first to burst into the enemy’s trench and destroyed 7 enemy soldiers with grenades and machine gun fire. By order of the 128th Guards Rifle Division of February 15, 1944, he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
In the battles for Sevastopol, the commander of the reconnaissance guard unit, Senior Sergeant Borodkin, conducted surveillance under artillery fire to identify the enemy’s defense system near Sevastopol in Cossack Bay . With two scouts, he made two passes in the enemy's wire fences. In a decisive attack, he made his way to the rear of the enemy and destroyed the enemy soldiers before the platoon with automatic fire. By order of the Separate Seaside Army of June 23, 1944, he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
On September 20, 1944, Senior Sergeant Borodkin, with his squad, broke into the village of Gabur in Slovakia (near Swidnik ) and knocked out 2 vehicles with guns and their calculations with grenades. Fire from machine guns repelled several attempts by the enemy to regain lost ground. Hold on to the approach of the main forces. By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated March 24, 1945, Senior Sergeant Borodkin was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree.
Borodkin F.F. was discharged in November 1945. He returned to Mikhailovka, worked as a senior foreman at the starting engine factory.
Fyodor Filippovich Borodkin died on June 11, 1972.
