Grashof, Apollon Ludwigovich (1843-1916) - Mintzmeister (head of the mint), who worked at the St. Petersburg Mint in 1883-1899. Gold and silver coins of Alexander III and Nicholas II , minted under his leadership, have the letters AG on the edge or obverse [1] .

The representative of the third generation of the mountain dynasty , his grandfather, Bogdan (Gottlieb) Grigorievich Grasgrof, a native of Saxony, and his father, Ludwig Bogdanovich Grasgrof (1802 — not earlier than 1856), who graduated from the Mountain Cadet Corps (1823), served in the Urals.
After graduating from the Institute of Mining Engineers, he worked as a trainee at the St. Petersburg Mint, in 1868 - assistant manager of the chemical part, since 1869 - assistant manager of the mechanical part, since 1878 - manager of the copper redistribution, since 1883 - the current position, and from 1886 to 1899 - in the position of manager of silver and gold coins, the Mintzmeister sign - “AG” (1883-1899). He retired with the rank of current state adviser [2] .
