Biography

He began working at the NRA plant in Yuzovka since he was 14 years old. In 1902 , working as a mechanic at a metallurgical plant, he joined the RSDLP .

In 1904, for participation in the organization of the strike was dismissed. In order to find a new job, he had to change his passport (a note on the time of his dismissal indicated his participation in the strike and the old documents became a “wolf ticket”). He continued the revolutionary activities.

In 1908 he was arrested again. He served a year in Bakhmut prison, after his release he returned to Yuzovka.

In 1912 , learning about the execution of workers on the Lena River , he began to raise money in favor of the families of the victims. For this he was again arrested by the tsarist secret police. Soon released due to lack of evidence and emigrated to America. In Chicago, he worked actively in the Union of Industrial Workers .

 

After the February Revolution of 1917 he returned to Yuzovka , was elected head of the machine shop, on November 17, 1917, the Council of Workers 'and Soldiers' Deputies appointed him commissar of all the banks of the city. In the summer of 1918, in an underground party work in the city, in November, Cossacks left the city under threat of arrest and joined the partisan detachment operating at Voznesensky mine. In November 1918, a member of the Yuzovsky Party Committee, threatened with arrest by the Cossacks, left the city and joined the partisan detachment operating at the Voznesensky mine. He later led the Red Guard detachment, a participant in the Civil War . In 1919 and 1920, a member of the Yuzovsky Revolutionary Committee, led the procurement of grain. Last position - Chairman of the Yuzov branch of rural consumer cooperation.

He was shot dead by bandits on September 22, 1921 in a house opposite the “Brotherly School” (current address: 54 Chelyuskintsev St.).

He was buried in a group memorial in Voroshilovsky district of Donetsk .

In 1927, in Donetsk was named after him.
