Robert Boyd Holbrook ( born Robert Boyd Holbrook [1] ; born September 1, 1981 [2] ; Prestonsburg , Kentucky , USA ) is an American film and television actor, as well as a model and artist. He became most famous for his role in the drama television series Narco , where he played the role of UBN agent Steve Murphy.

Early life and model career
Holbrook was born in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, in the family of Ellen and Don Holbrooks [1] . In his youth, he moonlighted as a carpenter in a local theater [1] [3] .
In 2001, Boyd signed a contract with the French modeling agency Elite Model , and later worked at the fashion institution Wilhelmina Models . Also, Holbrook collaborated (as a model) with the following designers and labels: Gucci , Jean-Paul Gaultier , Versace , Hugo Boss , Bill Blass , Calvin Klein , Moschino , Marc Jacobs , DSquared² .
Boyd and model Omahir Mota posed for photographer Ellen von Unvert for the Paris exhibition Omahyra & Boyd (2005), and a book with these photos was later released - Exhibitions International [4] [5] .
Film career
Holbrooke released a mini-series of poems on Model-Max.com, accompanied by illustrations by Jamie Strachan [6] .
Participating in fashion shows in Europe and Asia, Holbrook saved up enough money to study film art at New York University, where he received the SCPS 16mm Film certificate [7] . Then Boyd attended classes at Columbia University in the Department of Film History and Screenwriting. Since then, he has produced five short films.
Boyd studied acting at William Esper’s studio , where he attended a two-year course of study [8] , and also participated in a specialized training program from Shane Ann Younts (where he studied voice and speech production [9] . In 2007, when he sent his script to director Gus Van Sent , who was so impressed with the talent of a novice filmmaker that he offered him a small role in his film “ Harvey Milk. ” [10] At the same time, he starred in a music video for the song “Allison” punk group Permanent Me , together with another Odelia - Tia Eckhardt [11] .
Holbrook's other hobbies include photographing and sculpting. His debut art show - "Iscariot", was held from April 19 to May 17, 2008 at the New York gallery RARE [12] .
In 2015, he played the role of UBN agent Steve Murphy in the television series Narco .
Personal life
Holbrooke began dating actress Elizabeth Olsen in September 2012 after meeting on the set of The Very Good Girls . In March 2014, the couple became engaged [2] [13] . However, in January 2015, they broke up [14] . The actor and his girlfriend, the Danish actress Tatyana Paykovich, on January 14, 2018, had their firstborn - a son named Day.
