The coat of arms of Seoul is the official symbolism of the capital of the Republic of Korea . The coat of arms has a round shape. The full name of the city is written on the coat of arms: "SEOUL METROPOLITAN GONVERNMENT" (Not visible in the picture) . The coat of arms depicts two strips of green and blue and a red circle. The figures symbolize the future of Seoul. The emblem was approved in 1996 .
