History

On the map of the St. Petersburg province of 1792, A. M. Vilbrecht , is designated as the village of Vereva [2] .

On the “Topographic map of the environs of St. Petersburg” of the Military Topographic Depot of the General Staff of 1817, it is designated as the village of Vereva on the Vereva River from 2 yards and with it a mill [3] .

As the village of Vereva with 5 yards and a brick factory attached to it, it is mentioned on F. F. Schubert 's “Topographic Map of St. Petersburg Environs” in 1831 [4] .

VEREVE - the village belongs to Samoilova , the countess, in it there is a wooden flour mill, the number of inhabitants according to the audit: 54 metro stations, 47 railways. p. (1838) [5]

According to the map of F. F. Schubert of 1844, there was only one village of Vereva [6] .

On the ethnographic map of the St. Petersburg province of P. I. Köppen in 1849, it is mentioned as the village "Werewä", inhabited by Ingermanlanders - Savakots [7] .

But in the explanatory text of the ethnographic map, it is taken into account as two villages

  • Werewä ( Rope ), number of inhabitants for 1848: 33 m. p., total 69 people
  • Mosinamylly ( Mill ), number of inhabitants for 1848: 25 m.p. , 19 w. n., a total of 44 people [8] .

VEREVO - a village of the Tsarskoslavian specific estate, on a country road, the number of yards - 18, the number of souls - 64 m. (1856) [9]

According to the “Topographic Map of Parts of St. Petersburg and Vyborg Provinces” in 1860, the village was divided and its smaller part became Malaya Vereva , it consisted of 3 peasant households [10] .

But in the "Lists of Populated Places of the Russian Empire" of 1838-1862, the Big and Small Verevo were taken into account jointly.

VEREVO (BIG AND SMALL VEREVA, MILL) - a specific village on the Vereve River, the number of yards - 23, the number of inhabitants: 82 metro stations, 70 railways. p. (1862) [11]

In 1879, the village was called Malaya Vereva (Myllyukyulya) and consisted of 6 peasant households [12] .

In 1885, the village of Malaya Vereva consisted of 5 yards.

In the XIX century, the village administratively belonged to the Mozinsky volost of the 1st camp of Tsarskoye Selo district of St. Petersburg province, at the beginning of the XX century - the 4th camp.

By 1913, the number of yards increased to 27 [13] .

According to a topographic map of 1931, the village numbered 29 yards. In the village was organized collective farm "Beginning".

According to 1933, the village was called Maloe Verevo and was part of the Romanovsky Finnish national village council of the Krasnogvardeisky district [14] .

According to the data of 1966 and 1973, the village of Maloe Verevo was part of the Bolshetaitsky village council [15] [16] .

According to 1990 data, 4,265 people lived in the village of Maloe Verevo . The village was the administrative center of the Verevsky Village Council, which included 19 settlements: the villages of Bolshoi Verevo , Bugry , Vaya , Vayalovo , Gorki , Doni , Zaitsevo , Ivanovka , Izhora , Kirlovo , Kommolovo , Maloe Verevo , Pegelevo , Romanovka ; villages Volodarsky Water supply , Peat enterprise ; villages at the station Verevo , New Mozino , Old Mozino , with a total population of 5645 people [17] .

As of January 1, 2006, there were 1,460 households and 50 dachas in the village, and the total population was 3,959 people [18] .

In 1997, 4149 people lived in the village, in 2002 - 4109 people (Russians - 93%), in 2007 - 3904 people [19] [20] [21] .

Geography

The village is located in the northern part of the district on the P23 Pskov highway ( E 95 , St. Petersburg - the border with Belarus ) at the junction of the 41K-218 highway (Maloe Verevo - Pudost ).

Distance to the administrative center of the district - the city of Gatchina , 5 km [17]

The distance to the nearest railway station Verevo is 5.5 km [15] .
