Elections to the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly of the fourth convocation were held on November 25, 1967. Only one candidate was nominated in each constituency, the vast majority of whom represented the Labor Party of Korea , there were also several candidates from other parties and organizations that are members of the United Democratic National Front [1] . According to North Korean authorities, the voter turnout was 100%, while 100% of the vote was cast for nominated candidates [2] .

In these elections, for the first time, representatives of the Association of North Korean Citizens in Japan , a public organization of the Korean diaspora in Japan, controlled by the DPRK special services, were elected to the Supreme People's Assembly [3] . The first session of the newly elected Supreme National Assembly, which was held on December 14-16, 1967, adopted the declaration "Let us embody more thoroughly the revolutionary spirit of independence, self-sufficiency and self-defense in all areas of state activity." At the session, Choi Yong Gong was relieved of his post as chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme National Assembly; Baek Nam Un was elected to this post.
