Viscount Davidson of Little Gaddesden in Hertfordshire - ancestral title in the United Kingdom Peer system. It was created on June 11, 1937 for a conservative politician and former member of parliament from Hemel Hemstead , Sir John Colin Campbell Davidson (1889-1970). He served as chancellor of the duchy of Lancaster (1923-1924, 1931-1937), parliamentary and financial secretary of the Admiralty (1924-1926), chairman of the Conservative Party (1926-1930). His eldest son, John Andrew Davidson, 2nd Viscount Davidson (1928-2012), served as captain of the Yemeni Guard (1986-1991) in the conservative governments of Margaret Thatcher and John Major . In 1999, following the adoption of the House of Lords Act, he lost his seat in the House of Lords of Great Britain.
As of 2012, the title holder was his younger brother, Malcolm William Mackenzie Davidson, 3rd Viscount Davidson (born 1934), who succeeded his older brother in 2012 .
