Vadim Vladimirovich Dubovsky (born April 21, 1964 , Donetsk ) is a Ukrainian and American singer and actor. In 2014, he became famous as a “singing trucker ” - the author and performer of Ukrainian romances and his own satirical poems on the melody of Soviet songs. The soloist of the ensemble "Chicago Cossacks" [1] . Not being a professional actor, he stars in films by director Sergey Loznitsa [2] . The second film with his participation, Donbass , in 2018 received a prize at the Cannes Film Festival .

Biography
Born in Donetsk, where he lived until the age of 11. Then the family moved to the Millerovsky district of the Rostov region and a year and a half later - to Kiev .
He studied at the Kiev secondary specialized music boarding school named. N.V. Lysenko . In 1991 he graduated from the A.M. Gorky Kiev Pedagogical Institute , the Faculty of Music and Pedagogy (music teacher , conductor ).
While still a student, he became a professional artist. He began his creative career in the Academic Male Choir Chapel of Ukraine named after L. N. Revutsky , which has toured in Poland , Belgium and England .
In 1991, Vadim Dubovsky entered the Kiev Conservatory ( opera vocals , dramatic baritone ), which he graduated in 1996 [3] .
In 1993-2002 served in the National Honored Academic Chapel of Ukraine "Dumka" [4] . For nine years, as part of the chapel, Vadim Dubovsky has toured more than 40 times in France, Italy, Great Britain, Spain, Denmark, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Austria, Poland, the Netherlands and Germany. He toured several times in the USA, where in 2002 he moved to a permanent place of residence.
From 2004 to 2007 he worked as a leading and sound engineer on the Ukrainian radio in Chicago .
In 2010, he received American citizenship [5] .
After the termination of funding, the radio station became the driver of the school bus , since 2011 - a heavy truck, " trucker " [5] .
He lives in Chicago with his wife and mother.
Creativity
In 2009, in the United States became a member of the vocal ensemble of the Cathedral of St. Vladimir and Olga in Chicago [6] .
In 2014, after the outbreak of events in the Crimea and the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine, he became famous as a “singing trucker” - the author and performer of YouTube of Ukrainian folk songs [7] and protest songs , mostly satirical , including with profanity , on melodies of the Soviet anthem and songs. The subject of satire of many of his works is Vladimir Putin [8] . Vadim Dubovsky writes all his texts behind the wheel, records using a smartphone and publishes on the Internet .
