“Station” ( Ukrainian “Station” ) - station of the Kiev metro . It is located on the Svyatoshinsky-Brovarskaya line between the Polytechnic Institute and the University stations .

History
Opened November 6, 1960 as part of the first phase of construction. The station is named according to its location near the Central and Suburban stations of the Kiev-Passenger railway station . Passenger traffic - 68.3 thousand people / day [1] . As of 2011, it was the busiest metro station in Kiev.
Since 1986, the station has the status of “a monument of local architecture”, security number - 192 [2] [3] .
Description
Starovokzalnaya Light Rail Station is nearby.
Station deep . It has three underground halls - the middle and two halls with landing platforms. The halls of the station are interconnected by a number of aisles-portals that alternate with pylons. The underground lobby is connected to the ground three-band single-march escalator .
The ground lobby is a two-story building, which is adjacent to the building of the suburban station of the Kiev-Passenger station.
Appearance
The design of the underground lobby uses the contrast of white walls and pylons with decorative bronze embossed medallions (up to 2 m in diameter ), which depict events from the history of Ukraine . The butt of the hall until 1992 was decorated with the emblem of the Ukrainian SSR [4] .
Development Prospects
In the future, the Vokzalnaya station will become part of the interchange hub with the Podolsk-Vigurovskaya line .
Since the mid-1960s, it is planned to build a second exit from the station. The beginning of its construction is constantly delayed. The estimated construction period is approximately 1.5 years [5] .
