Spars, apparently, came from the province of Tarracon Spain from a horseman clan. Nothing is known about his parents. He was admitted to the Senate, presumably during the reign of Emperor Vespasian . In 88, Spars served as consul-suffice along with Otacilius Catulus . Perhaps he can be identified with Julius Spars, a friend of Pliny the Younger , who sent him his books [1] and Spars, mentioned in Martial 's Epigrams [2] .
