Manuel Veiga Mashado ( port. Manuel Veiga Machado ; September 15, 1986, Santa Maria de Oliveira , Portugal ) - Portuguese footballer, striker of the Lusitans club. Biography
At the age of thirteen, in 1995 he became a member of the Aves children team. From 2000 to 2004 he was in the camp of Famalikan . In the 2004/05 season, he was a player of the Lisbon Sporting , with whom he became the winner of the Portuguese Under-18 Championship [1] .
In 2005, he began his career with the Merelines team, which played in Portugal's third strongest division. Later, he played for other teams from the lower divisions of Portugal - Torkatenshe , Coorenche and Cabeisseres .
In 2008, he became a player in the Andorran club Lusitans , which was founded by immigrants from Portugal [2] . In the summer of 2008, he moved to another Andorran team, “ San Julia ”, with whom he won the championship of the Principality . In the summer of 2009, the team first participated in the Champions League . In the first round of “San Julia”, the San Marino “ Tre Fiori ” got caught and the Andorrans managed to win (2: 2 in the sum of two matches and 5: 4 in the penalty shootout) [3] . “San Julia” became the first Andorran team to advance to the next round of European competitions [4] . In the second round, the club lost in the two-match battle to the Bulgarian “ Levski ” (0: 9). Riera took part in all 4 fights [5] .
Then, the Portuguese moved to the Andorra club from the capital of the eponymous principality. Together with the team, he played in the lower divisions of Spain for two seasons. In 2011, Manuel Veiga joined the Cyprus APOP Kiniras , who played in the second division of the island nation . According to the results of the 2011/12 season, the team took 12th place and flew to the third division . In the summer of 2012, Riera signed a two-year contract with the Ayia Napa team, which first entered the Cyprus top division [6] . The Portuguese spent six months in the camp of the Cypriots, played 14 matches and scored 2 goals [7] .
In 2013, he returned to Andorra, joining the São Julia team. Riera took part in the final match of the Andorra Cup , in which his club lost the Unio Esportiva Santa Coloma with a score (2: 3), and he himself became the author of one of the goals [8] . In the summer of 2013 he moved to Lusitans. As part of the team, he participated in two games of the first qualifying round of the Champions League against the Faroese EB / Streymour . Since 2014, Riera stands for Andorra. In the 2014/15 season, he scored 13 goals in 26 games in the Catalan Segund, becoming the team's second scorer [9] , losing just two goals to Argentine Dario Iserna [10] . Following the results of the tournament, Andorra entered the Example of Catalonia [11] . In January 2016, at one of the training sessions, Riera had a conflict with physical training coach Jordi Benet , after which Riera was suspended from training due to unruly behavior [12] . In the 2015/16 season, he spent 13 games, scoring 8 goals [13] .
In the winter of 2016 he returned to the Lusitans. In the 2015/16 season, the team took second place, Riera took part in 6 games and scored 1 goal [14] .
